Howard Weg, formerly a name partner at one of the most prominent boutique business restructuring and bankruptcy law firms, is working with QLA to provide business restructuring advice to clients whose abilities to meet their financial obligations have been compromised. He is also assisting QLA and its clients that hold debt or equity in troubled media or entertainment companies, as well as those clients interested in investing in or acquiring the assets of, or claims against, media or entertainment companies that are in distress. Mr. Weg has over 40 years of experience in business restructurings, workouts and bankruptcies, with a particular emphasis on entertainment and technology. Mr. Weg has advised and represented debtors and creditors in a wide variety of prominent chapter 11 bankruptcy matters, including The Weinstein Company bankruptcy, the MGM bankruptcy, Carolco Pictures, Kushner Locke, the Halcyon Group (Terminator), as well as significant technology and media restructurings and other insolvency proceedings, such as Fandor, GoDigital, The Shooting Gallery, THQ Gaming, Dino De Laurentiis, and many others. Sony Pictures Entertainment, Dreamworks, and Quentin Tarantino have been among his many notable creditor clients. Mr. Weg has been named in “The Best Lawyers in America” (1999-Present), “Who’s Who Legal: Restructuring & Insolvency” by Global Restructuring Review (2012 Inception to date), “Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business” (2003- present) (Recognized as “Bankruptcy/Restructuring Leader”), “Southern California Super Lawyer,” Super Lawyers (2004-Present), and was voted “Bankruptcy Lawyer of the Year” by the Century City Bar Association (2003-2004). Mr. Weg holds a LLM from Yale Law School, JD cum laude from Southwestern Law School, and a BA from UCLA.
